Cool
I'll try to rmember to put the 'stinger' across the lane

There is also free breakfast up here in Cambourne if you cycle in, so I'm going to go for the whole 40 mile trip up one day back the next.

The most anyone is doing in a single day is 50 miles (25 there, and same back etc.) - twice this week - here at our office.

Yesterday my group took 1 hour 20 mins to do 12 miles (9mph). Today they tried going faster but they blew up on Whitehill and ended up walking that bit. Good to see them trying though and the fitness will come if they keep it up.

Nice getting a free breakfast this week - shame it's not every week.

cycled to work and back yesterday - crikey, my backside hurts

~17miles each way - mostly off-road, averaged ~10mph

Yeh plenty of people cycling in the nice weather (till today). Wellington in the Old Welwyn had a fire the other day - so my route has a diversion to avoid the traffic lemmings in cars who can't think of another way to go.

My mountain bike's got a bust wheel so it's in Marshalls, also seemed like a good time to convert to tubeless tyres.

Hope to be back on the road by Wed as we're down to one car, I'll be riding all July, or I won't be able to get to work, just been planning new route from Baldock which looks fairly efficient & traffic free.

Long time since posted on this thread.

August and September a bit interrupted in terms of daily riding and impact on fitness showed with Paul dominating the hills on the Isle of Wight multi day trip. Now back daily commuting on the bike in effort to regain fitness and redress the balance .

Well Autumn is here and I've been wearing my gore phantom jacket (lovely) without the sleeves this week. Got a soaking yesterday and Tuesday but this morning nice and sunny if a little chilly. Still wearing shorts but might have to switch to Ron Hills for the approaching winter commute soon. other good news is that after a few full charge / discharge cycles the off road lights now last 4 hrs 20 mins between charges - unlike the poor 20 mins they managed on the Isle of Wight.

Old Welwyn now has some kind of new one way system which buggers up my route that goes past Paul's house. So now back on one of my older commuting routes in the morning and back past Paul's in the evening. (Paul any idea if one way system will become permanent?).

Offroad trails on commute still firm despite recent rains this week but probably for no more than 4 or more weeks from now. Anyone up for some night rides before the tracks deteriorate?

I'm considering wearing shorts over Ron Hills for a bit of extra warmth....

Well Autumn is here and I've been wearing my phantom gore jacket (lovely) it has extendible vampire bat wings and oozes blood as soon as I change into the upper gear set.

what do you mean "I'm not taking this seriously"?

What is going on with the weather?

Ron Hills has been in and out of the closet more times than he's posted on this forum.

Shorts yesterday, jacket unzipped as too warm, then chilling fog, and grey old day today, and ron hills back out of the closet. Looking forward to when it's properly winter and I don't have to phaff around with different clothing depending on what the morning / evening brings.

Loving the night riding through the woods and along the bridleways on the way home though. Panniers do affect the hnadling though and sometimes I catch them on the trees along the narrow tracks
