Laybacking hurts less than jamming until you fall off. |

Yeah, I've been following this one too. You can always count on UKC threads for amusement value!
Haston's known for complaining about pro climbers (more accurately him!) being poor or not making a good living but then his last post was about not wanting to write and hating work! He comes across as a bit of a ****!! |

I wonder if DM will be climbing 9a on bolts and new routing E8 on the Lleyn when he's in his 50s I think I'd refer to SH as inspirational. But yeah he does like to have a dig ;) |

| Slacks, which is your inspiration, climbing 9a or being 50? |

| There's no doubt the SH is a fantastic all round climber without taking into account his age, so being 50 makes it even more impressive. It a shame he has to have a dig all the time (seeming squarely at DM and Scotland). I happen to follow DM's climbing because I like what he does and how he does it. I don't follow SH because of how he comes across. He needs to get rid of the chip! |

Re. Stevie Haston - for a man trying to make a living from writing about his climbing adventures, he ought to be able to spell 'article', no matter how large the chip on his shoulder is.
'tell you what though, he does have a f***ing big rabbit so you have to give him a bit of leeway.

Waves, interesting choice but my inspiration would be the new routes he put up on Craig Dorys last year. If you've seen that cliff you'll understand why! |

I agree it can get a bit wearing after a while but I get the impression that a lot of it is tongue in cheek. In fact it's a bit refreshing that someone is willing to be a maverick and have a pop at the establishment every now and again. Climbing has always had it's characters. Its a thin line between madness and genius they say.
Maybe the rabbit can do 2000 pull ups in an hour as well. |

There's a story in 'The Hard Years' about Morty Smith doing 9 press ups with someone of his own weight (9 1/2 stone) sat on his shoulders! |

How many rabbits can you bench press, Wavey?

What's going on with it's front legs? It looks like a cross between a rabbit and a tyrannosaur.
Is it a belay bunny? Sorry ! |
