Dear Rupert,
For some time now I have been trying to attract female members to my climbing club. Unfortunately they turn up once but are frightened off by the more "active" members and are never seen again.
Help!

This is unfortunately an all too common occurence and one that is understandably distressing for you SINBAD. Although drastic, other clubs and societies have found that neutering the "active" members is a very effective method of raising female attendance levels. Your local butcher will normally be happy to help.
